About Me

Welcome!! I am SO glad you are here. I want you to take a pause, slow down for one second, breathe in deeply through your nose and out through your mouth...Did you do it? Okay, now... recognize and give yourself credit for making it this far. You are strong. You are courageous. You are brave. It is beyond difficult for us as women to ask for help sometimes, and even more to accept help. We love to spend all our time and energy taking care of everyone else, and forget about ourselves sometimes. If this sounds like you so far, you're in the right place!

My name is Angela, and I have a passion for helping women and children process their thoughts and feelings during life’s various challenges. My goal is to work collaboratively with you, and provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It is such an honor for me to be invited into your private experiences and have the opportunity to be able to guide you towards healing and living a meaningful life you deserve.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners (License #67897), a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional through Postpartum Support International (Certification #PSI8515), and a Registered Play Therapist™ through the Association of Play Therapy (Registration #T6126). I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Minor in Business Administration with a Certificate of Professional Event Management from Texas A&M University. I also received a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston. I have specialized training in Perinatal Mental Health, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Sand Tray Therapy, and Play Therapy.

At this time, I am accepting new clients for Perinatal Mental Health services, individual counseling for adult women, Play Therapy for children, and several different support groups and training opportunities online for women. Online counseling sessions are offered for those anywhere in the state of Texas, or in person at an office located in The Woodlands, Texas, just north of Houston.

My go to stress relievers include relaxing with family, playing with my puppy (well, he's actually 10 years old!), cooking new recipes, and exploring nature or traveling with my boyfriend!

About Perinatal Mental Health

Women of every culture, age, income level and race can develop perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Symptoms can appear any time during pregnancy and up to an entire year after childbirth. There are effective and well-researched treatment options to help you recover. But what really are perinatal mood and anxiety disorders? Majority of people have at least heard of postpartum depression, but the truth of the matter is, most people don't know how to recognize it. And, postpartum depression isn't the only type of distress that can show up during pregnancy or postpartum.

About Play Therapy

Children are seen in Play Therapy for many different reasons and can include behavioral issues, mental health disorders, or emotional outbursts due to big life changes such as divorce, moving, bullying, grief and loss, or trauma. Child-Centered Non-Directive Play Therapy is a modality of child therapy that is evidenced based. It is a safe, comfortable and natural way for children to process their experiences, manage their cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges. It also helps kids to understand their world around them. Play is the most natural way for kids to communicate, therefore it is also the most natural way to meet kiddos where they are at during the therapy process.

About Counseling for Women

Want to feel heard, validated that you aren't the only one feeling or thinking this way? Need new perspectives or time to heal old internal wounds?

Counseling for Women can help with processing and healing from:

  • panic attacks, anxiety or intense feelings of worry

  • adjustment to new life changes

  • childhood trauma or medical trauma

  • grief and loss

And offer an opportunity to:

  • increase self-confidence

  • feel empowered

  • decrease shame, guilt, and fear

  • work towards living a life you value

Don't struggle alone any longer. If you don't take time now for your wellness, you will be forced to take care of your illness.
